Ingredients
- 4 slice(s) Country bread (slightly thick country bread)
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter (softened at room temperature)
- 1 tsp Herbes de Provence (or dried herb blend)
- 2 unit Eggs (fresh eggs)
- 50 g Grated cheese (Gruyère, Emmental, Mozzarella) (mixed cheeses, grated)
- 2 slice(s) Sliced ham (cooked ham, preferably herbed)
Instructions
Toast the bread with butter and herbs
Melt the butter in the pan over medium heat, add the Herbes de Provence, then place the bread slices. Brown each side 1‑2 minutes until lightly crisp.

Cook the eggs on the bread
Crack the eggs directly into the pan on the toasted bread. Cook until the whites are set, cover for 1 minute if needed so the tops cook slightly.

Add cheese and ham
When the eggs are almost done, sprinkle the grated cheese over the top then place the ham slices.

Fold the sandwich
