Ingredients
- 1 piece Standard Clothes Pin (metal or wooden, about 3‑4 inches long)
- 1 sheet 120 Grit Sandpaper (cut to match the length of the clothes pin)
- 1 teaspoon All‑Purpose Glue (any strong adhesive such as PVA or super glue; use sparingly)
Instructions
Trim the Sandpaper
Using scissors, cut the 120‑grit sandpaper to a length that matches the length of the clothes pin (about 3‑4 inches).
Time: PT1M
Apply Glue to the Pin
Squeeze a small amount of glue onto the inner surface of the clothes pin where the sandpaper will sit. Spread it thinly with a brush or toothpick.
Time: PT1M
Attach Sandpaper Inside
Press the trimmed sandpaper onto the glued inner side of the pin, holding it firmly for a few seconds until the adhesive sets.
Time: PT1M
Attach Sandpaper Outside
Repeat the gluing process on the outer side of the clothes pin so both faces are covered with sandpaper.
Time: PT1M
Sharpen the Knife
Place the dull knife blade between the two sandpaper layers of the pin. Pull the knife through the sandpaper, moving it back and forth 5‑7 times with light pressure.
Time: PT2M
Test the Edge
Slice a piece of soft vegetable (e.g., chayote or tomato) to confirm the blade cuts cleanly. If still dull, repeat step 5.
Time: PT1M
Clean Up
Wipe any excess glue from the pin, discard used sandpaper, and store the pin‑sharpener in a drawer for future use.
Time: PT3M
