- 200 g Barilla Classic Pastina (small star-shaped pasta, rinsed after cooking)
- 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (cut into small pieces for quick melting)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced finely)
- 1 whole Lemon (zested and juiced)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated)
- to taste Salt (for pasta water and final seasoning)
- to taste Freshly Ground Black Pepper (adds a subtle heat)
- 1 Tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped, optional garnish)
Instructions
Boil the Pasta
Fill a large pot with water, add a generous pinch of salt, and bring to a rolling boil. Add the pastina and cook according to package directions (about 5‑7 minutes) until al dente.

Reserve Pasta Water
Before draining, scoop out 1/2 cup of the hot pasta cooking water and set aside; it will help emulsify the sauce.

Drain the pastina in a colander and set aside.
