Instructions
Clean and Prepare the Oranges
Place the mandarin oranges in a mixing bowl, sprinkle with baking soda and coarse salt, rub gently to loosen the skin, then rinse thoroughly under running water. Peel the oranges, discard the white pith, julienne the outer peel, and set aside. Put the flesh in a blender and puree until smooth.

Transfer the orange puree to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium‑high heat. Once boiling, reduce to medium heat, add the granulated sugar, and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
