Ingredients
- 200 g Quinoa (white quinoa, rinsed and soaked 2–4 hours)
- 300 ml Water (use vegetable broth for extra flavor)
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil (for toasting the quinoa)
- 0.5 tsp Ground Turmeric (optional, adds warm color and flavor)
- 0.5 tsp Ground Cumin (optional, adds earthy note)
- 0.5 tsp Salt (to taste)
Instructions
Soak Quinoa
Place the quinoa in a large bowl, cover with cold water and let it soak for 2–4 hours.

Rinse and Drain
Transfer the soaked quinoa to a fine mesh sieve, rinse under running cold water, shake off excess water and pat dry with a kitchen towel.

Toast Quinoa
Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in the saucepan over medium heat. Add the quinoa and stir for 3–5 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant. Sprinkle turmeric, cumin and salt, stir another 30 seconds.

Add Liquid & Bring to Boil
Pour 300 ml water (or vegetable broth) into the saucepan, increase heat to high and bring to a rolling boil.

Simmer Quinoa
Reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan and let the quinoa gently simmer for 15 minutes without stirring.

Rest Quinoa
Turn off the heat, keep the lid on and let the pot sit on the warm burner for 10 minutes.

Fluff & Serve
Remove the lid, fluff the quinoa gently with a fork, allow any excess steam to escape and serve warm or at room temperature.
