Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons Ghee (clarified butter, melted)
- 1 piece Green Chili (sliced lengthwise, seeds removed for less heat if desired)
- 1 medium Onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 medium Tomato (chopped)
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder (ground)
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder (ground)
- 8 pieces Curry Leaves (fresh)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
- 1 cup Water (room temperature)
Instructions
Wash and Drain the Rice
Rinse the basmati rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. Drain well in a sieve.
