Cost: $2.35 total, $0.59 per serving
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream (cold, preferably extra‑heavy if available)
- 2 Tbsp Crème Fraîche (adds tang and stabilizes the fat structure)
- 1 Tbsp Confectioners Sugar (optional; adds slight sweetness and helps thicken)
Instructions
Chill Bowl and Whisk
Place a large mixing bowl and the whisk attachment in the freezer for at least 10 minutes; keep the heavy cream refrigerated until ready.
Time: PT5M
Measure Ingredients
Remove the bowl from the freezer, add 1/2 cup cold heavy cream, 2 Tbsp crème fraîche, and 1 Tbsp confectioners sugar.
Time: PT2M
Whip on Medium Speed
Using a hand mixer on medium speed, whisk the mixture until it becomes foamy and the sugar is dissolved, about 30 seconds.
Time: PT30S
Whip on High Speed to Stiff Peaks
Increase to high speed and continue whipping until the cream holds its shape when the bowl is tilted, roughly 1–2 minutes. Stop as soon as firm peaks form; over‑whipping turns the cream grainy.
Time: PT2M
Use or Store
Use the whipped cream right away as a topping, or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Do not leave at room temperature.
Time: PT1M
