Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Desi Ghee (pure, unsalted, melted)
- 0.5 cup Gram Flour (Besan) (sifted)
- 0.5 cup Semolina (Sooji) (fine grade, sifted)
- 0.25 cup Cashew Nuts (roughly chopped)
- 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (adjust to taste; white sugar gives a bright color)
- 0.5 cup Water (room temperature)
- 0.25 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (optional, for aroma)
Instructions
Melt Ghee
Place the small white frying pan over medium heat and add the desi ghee. Let it melt completely.

Combine Gram Flour and Semolina
Add the sifted gram flour and semolina to the melted ghee. Stir continuously to blend, but do NOT roast the mixture; just coat the flour in ghee.

Add Sugar
Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the flour‑ghee mixture and stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture turns a light white‑gold color.

Incorporate Water
Gradually pour the half‑cup of water while stirring continuously. The batter will thicken as the semolina and gram flour absorb the water.

Cook Until Ghee Separates
Continue stirring until the mixture becomes glossy and the ghee starts to separate around the edges, indicating the flour is fully cooked.
