- ½ tsp Salt (Kosher or sea salt)
- ¼ tsp Black Pepper (Freshly ground)
- 4 slices Cheese Slices (Cheddar or mozzarella)
- 4 leaves Lettuce (Iceberg or romaine, washed)
- 1 small Onion (Thinly sliced)
- 4 pieces Burger Buns (Sesame seed buns, split)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil (Canola or sunflower oil)
- 1 tbsp Butter (Softened, for toasting buns)
Instructions
Prepare Tandoori Marinade
In a small bowl combine plain yogurt, tandoori masala, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.

Mix Beef and Marinade
Place the ground beef in a mixing bowl. Add 2 tbsp of the tandoori yogurt mixture and gently fold until just combined. Form into four equal patties, about 1 cm thick, without over‑working the meat.

Rest Patties
Let the formed patties rest on a plate for 5 minutes while you slice the onion and wash the lettuce.

Heat the Skillet
Add vegetable oil to the skillet and heat over medium‑high heat (about 190°C) until shimmering.
