Ingredients
- 2 slices Leftover Pizza Slice (any flavor, cut into bite‑size pieces)
- 1/2 medium Onion (diced)
- 1/2 cup Bell Pepper (diced, any color)
- 4 oz Mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil (for sautéing)
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tbsp Butter (softened, for the egg)
- 1 large Egg (fried to your liking)
- 1/4 cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend)
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Parmesan Cheese (grated, for garnish)
- a pinch Red Pepper Flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
Warm the Pizza Slice
Place the pizza slice on a microwave‑safe plate and microwave for 1 minute. This melts the cheese on top and makes the slice pliable for crisping.
Time: PT1M
Crisp the Bottom
Heat a non‑stick skillet over high heat until it’s almost smoking (about 1‑2 minutes). Add the warmed pizza slice, press gently, and cook for 30 seconds without moving it. Flip and repeat for the other side if desired.
Time: PT30S
Cut Pizza into Bite‑Size Pieces
Transfer the crisped pizza to a cutting board and cut into small cubes (about ½‑inch). Set aside.
Time: PT2M
Sauté Vegetables
In the same skillet (or a clean one), add 1 tbsp olive oil over medium‑high heat. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and sliced mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes until they begin to soften.
Time: PT3M
Season & Add Pizza
Sprinkle garlic powder and smoked paprika over the vegetables, stir for 15 seconds, then add the pizza cubes. Toss everything together and cook for another 2‑3 minutes until the pizza pieces are heated through and start to crisp at the edges.
Time: PT3M
Fry the Egg
In a second skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Crack the egg into the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook sunny‑side‑up or to your preferred doneness (about 2‑3 minutes).
Time: PT3M
Finish the Hash
When the egg is almost done, sprinkle shredded cheese over the pizza‑vegetable mixture. Let the cheese melt (about 1 minute), then gently fold the fried egg on top of the hash.
Time: PT1M
Plate & Garnish
Slide the hash onto a plate, drizzle any remaining pan juices, and garnish with grated Parmesan and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
Time: PT30S
