- 350 g Chicken fillets (cut into strips)
- 200 g Smoked bacon (cut into small dice)
- 200 g Vermicelli (medium type, from Savoie)
- 1 large Red or yellow onion (finely sliced)
- 2 cloves Garlic cloves (chopped)
- 2 medium Carrots (cut into small dice)
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste (or tomato sauce)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil (extra virgin)
- 1 L Water (filtered)
- 1 leaf Bay leaf
- 1 tsp Dried thyme (or fresh)
- to taste Black pepper (freshly ground)
- to taste Salt
- 1 tbsp Flat parsley (chopped, optional)
- 1 tbsp Sour cream (optional)
Instructions
Ingredient preparation
Finely slice the onion, chop the garlic, cut the carrots into small dice, slice the chicken into strips and cut the bacon if needed.

Cook the bacon
In the pan, heat 2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat and add the bacon. Cook until they release their fat and become slightly crisp.

Add onion and garlic
Add the sliced onion and chopped garlic to the pan. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

Brown the chicken
Add the chicken strips to the pan and brown on each side for about 5 minutes, until they are well colored.

Add carrots
Add the carrot dice and sauté for 2 minutes with the mixture.
