- Lightly sprinkle fleur de sel just before serving to enhance flavors.
- Replace the light coconut cream with full‑fat coconut milk for a richer taste.
Troubleshooting
Salmon becomes dry
Do not exceed 5 minutes of cooking on medium‑high heat and remove the salmon as soon as it becomes opaque.
Coconut sauce is too thin
Dissolve an extra teaspoon of cornstarch in a little cold water, add to the sauce and bring to a boil until thickened.
Potatoes remain firm
Extend the steaming time by 5 minutes or cut the potatoes into smaller pieces.
Storage
Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Freezer: Can be frozen for up to 1 month, but the salmon texture may change.
Room temperature: Do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Make-Ahead Tips
- Prepare the honey‑mustard sauce ahead of time and keep it refrigerated for 24 h.
- Steam the potatoes the day before and quickly re‑steam before serving.
- The coconut sauce can be made the day before; gently reheat and adjust thickness with a bit of cornstarch if needed.
