- 1 tbsp Ginger Puree (fresh ginger blended into paste)
- 2 stalks Scallions (white and green parts chopped)
- 1 cup Cabbage (shredded, like coleslaw mix)
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce (regular light soy sauce)
- 1 tsp Dark Soy Sauce (adds color and depth)
- 1 tsp Mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 0.5 tsp Salt (fine sea salt)
- 0.25 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
- 12 pieces Dumpling Wrappers (store‑bought round wrappers)
- 2 large Eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp White Sesame Seeds (toasted)
- 1 tsp Black Sesame Seeds (toasted)
- 1 cup Jasmine Rice (uncooked)
- 2 tbsp Dumpling Sauce (spicy dipping sauce, store‑bought)
Instructions
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl combine the ground pork, minced garlic, ginger puree, chopped scallions, shredded cabbage, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, mirin, salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Assemble Dumplings
Place a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface, spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling onto the center, fold and pinch the edges to seal tightly. Repeat until all wrappers are used.

Steam Dumplings
Add a thin layer of water to a wide pan, insert the steamer basket (or stacker), arrange the dumplings in a single layer, add a splash more water, cover with a lid and bring to a boil. Steam for 6–8 minutes until the wrappers become translucent and the pork is fully cooked.
