Chef Tips from the Video
- Use fresh medium‑sized shrimp for even cooking.
- Add a splash of fresh lemon juice just before serving to enhance freshness.
- Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds for extra crunch.
Troubleshooting
The shrimp are too rubbery.
Do not cook them more than 2–3 minutes per side and ensure they are fully peeled before cooking.
The sauce does not thicken.
Continue reducing over medium heat while stirring constantly, or add a small spoonful of cornstarch diluted in cold water.
The honey burns and gives a bitter taste.
Cook over medium‑high heat only while browning the shrimp, then lower the heat before adding the sauce.
Storage
Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Freezer: Freezing cooked shrimp is not recommended as the texture deteriorates.
Room temperature: Do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Make-Ahead Tips
- The marinade can be prepared ahead and the shrimp can stay in it for up to 2 hours.
- The reduced sauce can be made ahead and gently reheated before serving.
