- Coat the wings with sauce after the first cook then do a short second cook to set the sauce.
Chef Tips from the Video
- Use smoked paprika to intensify the smoky flavor.
- Lightly sprinkle brown sugar before the second cook for a caramelized finish.
- Serve with ranch dressing or coleslaw to balance the sweet‑salty.
Troubleshooting
Wings are not very crispy.
Increase oven temperature to 230 °C for the last 5 minutes or leave the wings on the rack without parchment paper.
Sauce burns in the saucepan.
Cook on low heat, stir constantly and add a small spoon of water if the sauce becomes too thick.
Sauce does not stick to the wings.
Pat the wings lightly with paper towels before dipping, or add a bit more honey for better adhesion.
Storage
Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container 3‑4 days.
Freezer: Can be frozen up to 2 months; thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
Room temperature: Do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
