- 1 c. à soupe Onion powder
- 2 c. à café Salt (Divided, 1 tsp for the meatballs, 1 tsp for the sauce)
- ½ tasse Vegetable oil (For cooking the meatballs and the sauce)
- 3 Onions (Medium, peeled and sliced)
- 1 boîte Concentrated tomato paste (About 140 g)
- 1 c. à café Curry powder
- 1 c. à café Dried thyme
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 c. à café Sweet paprika
- 2 kg Basmati rice (Rinse several times until water runs clear)
- 500 ml Homemade tomato sauce (Made with ripe tomatoes, onion, ginger, garlic)
- 2.5 c. à soupe Crayfish powder (or dried shrimp) (Divided, 1 tsp at the start, 2 tbsp at the end)
- 1.5 L Water (About 1 and a half bowls, adjust as needed)
Instructions
Season the meatballs
In a bowl, combine the meatballs with 1 tbsp onion powder, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tbsp oil. Coat well.

Cook the meatballs in the air‑fryer
Place the seasoned meatballs in the air‑fryer basket and cook at 180 °C for 20 minutes, shaking halfway through.

Sauté the onions
Heat ½ cup oil in the pot, add the 3 sliced onions and sauté for 3 minutes until they become translucent.

Add the tomato paste
Add the can of concentrated tomato paste, stir and cook for 3 minutes until the mixture absorbs the onions.

Add the spices
Stir in 1 tsp curry, 1 tsp thyme, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp paprika and a pinch of salt. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring.
