Chef Tips from the Video
- Use the small rind part of the Tomme to flavor the cooking broth or the stuffing.
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the top before baking for a beautiful golden color.
- Add a pinch of thyme or Herbes de Provence for more aromatic depth.
Troubleshooting
The zucchinis are too watery after cooking.
Drain the zucchini flesh before incorporating into the stuffing and/or blanch them for 2 minutes before stuffing.
The cheese does not brown.
Remove the tops after 20 minutes and let the zucchinis uncovered for an additional 10 minutes or increase the oven broiler during the last minutes.
The chicken remains pink.
Ensure the chicken is well browned before adding the mushrooms; cook 4‑5 minutes over medium‑high heat.
Storage
Refrigerator: Store the stuffed zucchinis in an airtight container 3 to 4 days.
Freezer: Not recommended, the zucchini texture deteriorates when frozen.
Room temperature: Do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Make-Ahead Tips
- Prepare the stuffing the day before and keep it refrigerated; fill the zucchinis just before baking.
- The zucchinis can be blanched for 3 minutes before stuffing to reduce excess water.
