Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Country Crock Vegan Butter (softened at room temperature)
- 4 cloves Garlic Cloves (peeled, whole)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for roasting garlic and making chili oil)
- 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (adjust to desired heat)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Chives (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Honey (optional for sweet contrast)
- 1 pinch Sea Salt (coarse flaky sea salt)
- 1 piece Crusty Bread (Baguette or Artisan Loaf) (sliced into thick pieces for serving)
Instructions
Roast Garlic
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the peeled garlic cloves on a piece of aluminum foil, drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, wrap tightly, and roast for 15 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized.

Make Fried Chili Oil
While the garlic roasts, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the red pepper flakes and fry for 2‑3 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat.

Transfer the softened vegan butter to a small bowl. If desired, mash the roasted garlic cloves into a paste and stir into the butter for extra flavor.
