Ingredients
- 1 can (5 oz) Canned Tuna in Water (drained)
- 2 Tbsp Mayonnaise (regular or light)
- 1 Tbsp Celery (finely diced)
- 1 Tbsp Red Onion (finely diced)
- 1 tsp Dijon Mustard (adds tang)
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
- to taste Salt (preferably kosher)
- to taste Black Pepper (freshly ground)
- 2 slices Sourdough Bread (thick cut, about 1/2 inch)
- 2 slices Cheddar Cheese (sharp, sliced about 1/8 inch)
- 1 tsp Unsalted Butter (softened, for spreading on bread (optional))
Instructions
Prepare Tuna Salad
In a mixing bowl combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, diced celery, diced red onion, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir with a fork until evenly mixed but still slightly chunky.
