Chef Tips from the Video
- For extra crispness, lightly brush the outer side of the paneer with butter before frying.
- Add a pinch of dried oregano or chaat masala inside for an aromatic twist.
- Use ghee instead of butter for a richer, nutty flavor.
Troubleshooting
Cheese does not melt.
Cover the pan for an extra minute or lower the heat slightly to allow steam to melt the cheese.
Sandwich sticks to the pan.
Add a little more butter or ensure the pan is properly pre‑heated before placing the sandwich.
Paneer breaks while slicing.
Use a very sharp knife and slice gently; chill paneer for 5‑10 minutes before cutting.
Storage
Refrigerator: Store leftover sandwiches in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in a pan or microwave before serving.
Freezer: Not recommended; texture of paneer changes after freezing.
Room temperature: Best eaten fresh; can sit at room temperature for up to 1 hour.
Make-Ahead Tips
- Slice paneer and veggies a few hours ahead and keep them refrigerated.
- Assemble the sandwiches, cover with cling film, and store in the fridge; fry when ready.
